Oxjam Brum Takeover Festival returns Saturday 17 October.

Oxjam Brum is a major one-day multi-venue celebration
of the best of Birmingham’s independent music scene, curated and delivered
by a team of dedicated volunteers who know and love the city. All proceeds from The Oxjam Brum Takeover Festival will be donated directly towards the charity’s lifesaving work to eradicate global poverty.

Artists confirmed include Benjamin Yellowitz, The Rooz and Josh Kemp as well as over 50 other bands, spoken word performers and DJs from throughout Birmingham. There are festival stages in seven city centre venues plus secret gigs to be announced on Frederic’s Canal Barge. There will also be a raffle with all proceeds from this and tickets going directly to Oxfam. Since 2006, over £2.5 million has been raised across the UK for Oxfam’s life saving campaign,
emergency and development work.

Live music fans from across the region will be treated to sets and sessions from established and emerging artists as well as street food at Spotlight in Digbeth.

Festival partners include Sofar Sounds, Lamour B’ham, Mission Print, University College Birmingham Students, Birmingham Photographic Society and Robannas Studios

An Oxjam Brum spokesperson said,

We’re very proud of Birmingham’s role in helping to make 2015 such a great year for music and culture in the UK. We have a fantastic  line-up this year and would like to thank all of our artists, volunteers and venues for giving their support to such a worthy cause.
