John Bright Street is revealed as the location for Birmingham’s new, anticipated venue PEAKYS.
Nestled between Turtle Bay and BrewDog bar, PEAKYS will join John Bright Street’s selection of independent restaurants and bars, in one of Birmingham’s most vibrant quarters.
Boasting the largest floor space in the quarter, PEAKYS will offer a simple food and drinks menu, including Origins coffee ®and aims to operate a relaxed, day and night, multi-use space in the centre of Birmingham.
The décor will consist of reused and up-cycled furniture to create an artistic and unique interior, alongside a clever use of scaffold to give a retro and more novel influence.
The walls, ceiling and floor remain in their original, concrete state to pay homage to Birmingham’s brutalism culture and also provide a backdrop for live art exhibitions inside the venue.
Speaking about the location, Benjamin Hill, general manager of PEAKYS, explains:
We are so thrilled to be located in the heart of Birmingham, amongst some of our favourite independent bars in the city.
PEAKYS will bring a brand new concept to Birmingham. We’re aiming to create something cool, in a simple way, that will provide everyone with what they’re after. Whether it’s to come and check out some new art, somewhere to sit down, or somewhere to come for a drink in the evening, we’ll have it. It’s a new and alternative meeting place.
The new venue will work in collaboration with independent businesses from across the UK, offering a unique pop-up space away from their and opportunity for expansion.
PEAKYS also runs a mobile bar made up of an unused horsebox, designed for street food events, weddings, football stadiums and more.
