Sonic Gun Concerts presents an out of this world three day event of the best in local live music, DJ’s, street food, craft beer and cocktails. The brand new festival is held at independent live music venue The Castle and Falcon in Moseley, and kicks off on Friday, August 17th at 6pm.
Over the course of three days, 21 indie and alternative acts from the Midlands will perform live, whilst DJs spin well into the night. Headliners include tropical indie pop outfit Riscas, who headlined a sold out show at The Castle and Falcon in May. Ivory Wave headline on Saturday, August 18th, bringing their distinctive sound of hip hop infused lyrics and nostalgic indie hooks. Sunday, August 19th sees Harry Jordan take centre stage, promising a high octane set of rock and roll, roots and blues.
The jam-packed weekend also sees iconic Birmingham bands Swim Deep and Peace DJ Friday and Saturday night respectively. Both acts promise to spin classic indie, rock and pop tracks deep into the night, whilst a secret DJ is in the works for Sunday.
Street food hails from House of Hen, a fusion of classic fried chicken with bursts of flavour and heat inspired by East Asian ingredients. As well as a bespoke cocktail menu, a range of craft beers will be available via Digbeth’s Dig Brew Co.
Sonic Gun Concerts are delighted to be putting on the first annual Sonic Gun Weekender at one of our favourite venues in the city. The Castle & Falcon is a great supporter of national and international music so it made total sense to put our first weekender here! The bands on the bill are all bands that Sonic Gun Concerts have worked closely with over the last 3 years, with the idea for the Weekender being to bring all these bands together and to put a spotlight on the amazing talent our city has. We’ll also be selling posters with all money going to Not Normal, Not Ok, a campaign to encourage safety and respect in music venues. It should be a fantastic weekend and I hope you can all join us. – Thomas Holloway, Sonic Gun Concerts.
The Sonic Gun Weekender takes place from Friday, August 17th at 6pm through to Sunday, 19th August. Both single day and weekend tickets are available and can be purchased from www.seetickets.com.
