A talented young Birmingham chef is launching a music event to help fund meals for the homeless.
Former UCB student Isadora Gavillet, 21, has launched a charity called The Morning After.
The first money-raising music event takes place from 5pm until midnight on Friday August 31 at Hawkers Yard in Pershore Street in the city centre.
The event will include house, garage, drum and bass, techno and disco music.
Some of the city’s best known DJs have volunteered to perform free.
Tickets for the event cost £5 plus a £1 booking fee.
Isadora, who has worked at some renowned city restaurants such as Two Cats and Adam’s, said: “You see so many homeless people on the streets of Birmingham and it’s just getting worse.
“At the end of the day they’re people like you and me and I just felt that I needed to try to do something to hep them.
“Hopefully, if this goes well, we’ll hold more events to raise money so we can provide meals for the homeless community.”
Hawkers Yard is in the heart of the China Quarter at 62-70 Pershore Street, Birmingham B5 4RU.
