Movers and shakers in Birmingham gathered last night to welcome the new General Manager of Hyatt Regency Birmingham, Mohammad Labban.
Originally, from Beirut, Lebanon, Mohammad has spent 22 years leading some of the most luxury Hyatt hotels in Asia – most recently opening the flagship on the Red Sea coast of Jordan, Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Resort. He brings with him a wealth of experience across all areas of hospitality including Sales, Marketing and Business Development.
Already filled with passion about Birmingham, Mohammad gave a speech about his personal connection to the second city. He spoke of how his family are the driving force behind his career success and how Birmingham holds a special place in their heart as its where chose to propose. His wife, Sam Labban, also studied at University of Birmingham and is a strong supporter of the city.
Guests enjoyed a welcome drinks reception followed by a five-course dinner prepared by Head Chef Liam Crotty in their signature restaurant Aria. The menu included delights such as miso cod and finished with chocolate fondue and a cheese board that went down a treat.
