COVID-19 Safety Measures: The Indian Streatery
At The Indian Streatery, the safety of their customers and staff has been the first and only priority as they prepared for the re-opening. The team have put a number of different measures in place, to ensure the safety of customers and staff. The full list of measures includes:
- Reduced capacity with some tables and chairs removed, to ensure appropriate distancing between tables and staff/customers
- All staff (including kitchen staff and FOH) will be wearing visors and gloves to maintain hygiene standards
- A ‘sanitising station’ has been created at the entrance of the restaurant where everyone entering the restaurant will be guided to. All persons must sanitise their hands before entering the restaurant.
- Hand sanitising dispensers mounted outside customer toilets
- Public toilets: signs and posters to build awareness of good hand washing technique. To enable good hand hygiene hand sanitiser available on entry to toilets. There will be clear cleaning guidance for toilets, with increased frequency of cleaning every 30 minutes.
- 1 Metre distances have been marked on the floor so staff customers & suppliers are aware and can maintain appropriate social distancing.
- Clear signposting will be used throughout the restaurants
- Perspex sheets have been put in place between tables, again to ensure appropriate distancing between tables. They will be thoroughly cleaned after every table has left the restaurant.
- Wellness checks- all staff will have their temperatures measured before working on shift.
- New flooring has been laid to facilitate cleaning measures and will be cleaned regularly throughout the day.
- All customers will be asked to provide contact details (emails) for the ‘Trace and Track’ system.
- Switch to paper menus which will be disposed of at each table sitting.
- When ordering, to minimise staff and customer interaction, customers will be encouraged to order using the restaurants’ online system.
- All payments are now cashless (Card only).
- A full comprehensive Covid-19 risk assessment has been completed.
- All Streatery team have completed full covid-19 training.
- Increased hand washing throughout the day. This will be signposted clearly in both premises.
- Frequent cleaning of objects and surfaces that are touched regularly including counters, tills, door handles & card machines.
- Cleaning surfaces and objects between each customer use. Stagger times to allow for a thorough clean before the next sitting.
- Longer time allocated for cleaning of tables, card machines, chairs & floor surfaces.
- Food delivery & handling- will provide cutlery & crockery only when food is served. Will minimise contact between kitchen staff and front of house staff. Specific zones from which front of house staff can collect food.
- Using side-to-side working (rather than face-to-face).
- Reducing the number of people each person has contact with by using ‘fixed teams or partnering’ (so each person works with only a few others).
- Reduced the capacity of Bennett’s Hill from 52 to 36 covers. This allows for appropriate social distancing. Express- no indoor seating only outdoor.
- Manage the entry of customers so that all indoor customers are seated with appropriate distancing, and those outdoors have appropriate spaced seating.
- Remind customers who are accompanied by children that they are responsible for supervising them at all times and should follow social distancing guidelines.
