Premium casual dining operator, KIBOU Japanese Kitchen & Bar, furthers its expansion plans with the opening of a fourth site in the metropolitan market town of Solihull this spring. The Solihull site will join recently opened KIBOU Clifton (October 2021) and sites in London’s Battersea and Cheltenham.
New KIBOU Solihull, located at Grade 2 listed 134 High Street, Solihull, will undergo a full redesign and refurbishment by Q&A Interior Design Ltd, with an anticipated opening at the start of April 2022. Designed with a vision to transport guests to the eclectic and exotic streets of Tokyo, KIBOU Solihull will feature trademark frieze panel murals and projector animations created by talented Gloucestershire artist, Martyna Sabadasz, against a backdrop of opulent Japanese block print textiles and wallcoverings.
The 70-cover restaurant and bar will include a range of dining areas plus a standalone marble decked bar and open sushi kitchen with high top seating. The décor will focus on a range of high gloss marble, stone and wood alongside traditional neon signage and feature lighting.
Outside the venue will benefit from an additional 25-cover Japanese-inspired terrace, offering guests the opportunity to dine amidst a canopy of vibrant golden acers created by Warren Bushaway of London Event Florist.
The menu at KIBOU Solihull will centre on the group’s signature sushi rolls, including their famous volcano roll – salmon, avocado and tobiko futomaki, tempura fried and served with KIBOU house sauce, alongside more traditional favourites such as hand-pressed nigiri and the freshest of sashimi. You’ll also find a range of other classic and contemporary Japanese dishes; steaming bowls of ramen, made with pork, chicken or vegan broth, crisp tempura, including softshell crab, a selection of pillowy steamed bao buns and handmade gyoza with a variety of fillings. Catering to all Japanese food lovers and those eager to try Japanese cuisine for the first time, KIBOU’s diverse menu includes an extended vegan offering, a generous range of ‘moriawase’ sharing platters to explore, and an elegantly rich menu of Japanese-inspired desserts.
To complement the restaurant offering, KIBOU will also feature a standalone bar serving signature Japanese-inspired cocktails, no-and-low options, an ambitious selection of Japanese whisky, sake and umeshu, Japanese brewed beers and authentic high-balls.
Commenting on the new site, Sam Horswill, Operations Director at KIBOU Restaurants Ltd says;
“We’re delighted to continue our journey of expansion for the KIBOU brand with the launch of a new site in Solihull this spring. Following the successful opening of KIBOU Clifton last October, these are exciting times for the brand, with further acquisitions earmarked for the next 12 months, and a sustained period of growth planned over the next 5 years.
“The new site will be headed up by accomplished general manager, Justin Davies, who currently co-manages our flagship site in Cheltenham and is extremely well-positioned to oversee the launch and recruit a local team around him.
“We’re very much looking forward to bringing our vibrant and contemporary slice of Japan to the West Midlands and to being part of the bustling and historic town of Solihull.”
