Wine Freedom, Digbeth’s resident natural wine bar, will be hosting a pop up event in May with the current reigning champion of Masterchef: The Professionals, Dan Lee.
Dan will be providing Wine Freedom’s guests with two unforgettable evenings of food 19th and 20th May, with dishes being paired with the venue’s in-house natural wines. Guests will be treated to a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a three-course banqueting meal.
The menu begins with canapés, including Smoked Beef Tartare, Mushroom & Taro Dumping & Salmon Kinilaw, alongside a wine pairing.
The mains include BBQ King Oyster, 5 Spice Tofu with chilli oil, spring onions and crispy shallots, Miso Aubergine, Pak Choi with Soy glaze, Lo Bak Go with Sriracha, and Jasmine Rice. Sharing carafes of wine will be served with main dishes, with a choice of white, orange or red.
To finish off the menu, the dessert will be a Miso Brownie with a sweet wine pairing.

In addition to this, the venue have also released their program of Tastings for the Spring. This year, the line-up includes introductions to natural, orange and sparkling wine, with tickets ranging from £30 – £45 per person.
An Introduction to Natural Wine
Guests will be able to learn about the world of natural wine with this in-depth wine tasting. Six wines will be available to taste alongside samples of locally-baked sourdough.
An Introduction to Orange Wine
Orange wine; sometimes referred to as ‘skin contact white wine’ or ‘amber wine’ is an undiscovered style of wine for many. Guests will have the chance to learn about and taste a range of organic, biodynamic and natural orange wines.
Natural Fizz & Sparkling Wine Tasting
Guests can delve into the world of natural sparkling wine, learning the differences between Prosecco, Champagne, Cava and Pet Nat. Artisan, handmade bottles of natural fizz will be available to taste.
