KOS DINING KITCHEN TO TAKE OVER OLD RECTORY HOUSE FOR FLORAL INSPIRED POP-UP

KOS Dining, the family-run dining experience that celebrates the fusion of fine dining, the best of British produce and seasonal flowers, is to host a series of pop-ups at The Old Rectory House, on Friday 10th November.

South African-born Bruce Cheyne, who has worked for some of the best chefs in the country, has partnered with his wife, luxury event florist, Kamie Cheyne, to create a floral-inspired food journey. 

The six-course tasting menu, priced at £60 per person, will feature dishes such as IPA Sourdough and truffle marmite butter, aged beef, potato gratin, Jerusalem artichoke, cabbage with a bone marrow sauce and a dessert of Honey, Fig leaf, yoghurt and Blueberry. For a £50 supplement, Old Rectory House’s drinks development team have matched wines for the dishes and have created three floral-inspired cocktails to complement the menu, including damsons, apples, figs and botanicals, all foraged from the grounds of the House.

The evening will take place in the Victorian-style Orangery at Old Rectory House, which is flooded with natural light from the enchanting glass roof lantern, overlooking the private garden surrounding the venue. Guests can enhance their evening with an overnight stay through Old Rectory House’s Dinner, Drinks Pairing & Overnight Stay package from £320 based on 2 guests sharing 1 room.

Bruce Cheyne attended Christina Martin, one of the most prestigious culinary schools in South Africa. From there he worked in many esteemed restaurants including being a part of the team at the world-renowned The Oyster Box Hotel in Durban. He has since worked for Jean-Christophe Novelli at The White Horse, trained with Tom Aikens, Lee Westcott and Alexander Claridge and headed up the pastry department in Michelin and multi-rosette restaurants as well as working in developmental kitchens. After meeting Kamie in 2013, they moved back to Kamie’s home county of the West Midlands and he worked with Stu Deeley at The Wilderness and Liam Dillon at The Boat Inn.

Kamie’s background in film set dressing and floristry career has led her to work on notable design projects, from intimate to large-scale events. Merged with her luxury event floral company in Alvechurch, brings a distinct style of luxury minimalism, inspired by seasonal changes and nature for KOS.
