Selfridges Birmingham has launched new Indian street food destination Indigo Rasoi in the heart of the Birmingham store. The restaurant is an exciting new addition to the line-up of eateries available for visitors to Selfridges at the Bullring Shopping Centre.
Now open on the ground floor at Selfridges Birmingham, Indigo brings authentic and traditional Indian street food with a specially curated menu featuring a fusion of traditional spices and contemporary flavours which encapsulate the vibrant tapestry of Indian street food.
Indigo likens its menu to a journey through the bustling streets of India. Customers can expect special wraps bursting with flavour as well as exotic richness in classics like Chicken Tikka and Biryani. The menu will also include breakfast options like the Paratha Desi Plate served with Chai and a lunchtime friendly Mumbai Naan Roll made with fresh naan or paratha and filled with Lamb Sheesh or Aloo Tikki.
The street food concept opened its first site in Westfield Stratford City food court in 2011. Since then, the popular food eatery has established itself as the ‘go to’ Indian street food experience, with an additional four locations in Selfridges London, Westfield White City, Old Spitalfields Market and Canary Wharf. The Selfridges Birmingham restaurant marks the launch of Indigo’s first outlet outside London.
Speaking on the exciting new development for the food brand, Ranu Miah, Founder & MD of Indigo Rasoi said:The grand opening of our new location right in the heart of the city at the renowned Selfridges in Bullring Shopping Centre is here and we are excited to share the news! We’ve received an exceptionally positive response from Selfridges customers since launching the deli counter in the Selfridges London Foodhall earlier this year, and we cannot wait to welcome the people of Birmingham and satisfy all their food cravings with our delectable offerings of authentic Indian street food.”
Sam Watson, Selfridges Birmingham General Manager said: “We are thrilled to welcome Indigo to our store with its first destination outside of London. The concept fits in seamlessly with our first-class food offering, and we look forward to welcoming guests for the Christmas season and onwards.”
