The Cat Show Live unleashes a Feline Fiesta at the NEC, Birmingham – Hosted by Olympic Medallist Iwan Thomas MBE

The Cat Show Live will host its debut event at NEC Birmingham on 14th September 2024, with an expected attendance of 3,000-5,000 cat enthusiasts. The event will be hosted by Olympic medallist and animal lover Iwan Thomas MBE and attendees visiting the 250-capacity theatre will hear from speakers discussing topics including grooming, behaviour, health and the latest trends in cat care.

The inaugural cat show promises to captivate thousands of feline enthusiasts from across the nation. With over 250 pedigree cats on display, this extraordinary event offers visitors a unique opportunity to engage with these majestic felines and interact with their devoted owners.

As the UK’s premier non-competitive cat show, it offers attendees an exclusive chance to engage with industry professionals. Visitors will have the privilege of receiving expert guidance on selecting a new feline companion for their family, as they interact with reputable breeders and owners who adhere to ethical practices.

Responsible Educated Cat Ownership (RECO) is at the heart of The Cat Show Live and will be continuing that theme in Theatre Square, where visitors will be able to hear from and interact with a line-up of esteemed global speakers on a variety of cat-related topics. From behaviour and health to the latest trends in feline care, attendees can immerse themselves in a world of knowledge and entertainment.

With a bustling marketplace of over 100 trade stands, visitors can shop for an extensive array of cat-related products, from gourmet treats to bespoke accessories.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy a live painting of a cat mural by Mr Mural. The mural will be auctioned to benefit Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital and a cat charity.

In a historic moment for feline enthusiasts, The Cat Show Live proudly announces the participation of members from the World Cat Congress (WCC) in a combined non-competitive event, alongside representation from TICA, Fife, and GCCF. This collaboration marks a new era in celebrating the diversity and excellence within the global cat community.

Founded by the dynamic husband and wife team, Peter Banbury and Samantha Marsh, The Cat Show Live brings over 20 years of collective experience within the cat sector.  Samantha, an award-winning entrepreneur recognised by Theo Paphitis, showcased her expertise on BBC One’s show ‘The Apprentice’ with her niche small business.

“The Cat Show Live is not just an event; it’s a culmination of our love for cats and our commitment to RECO – Responsible, Educated Cat Ownership”, says Samantha Marsh, co-founder of The Cat Show Live.

This event not only celebrates the cat world, but also serves as a platform to spotlight the incredible work done in the UK to rescue and re-home cats.

“Our long-term vision is to establish an annual event in the calendar that not only celebrates feline excellence but also gives back to support cat charities and rescues including specific breed rescues across the UK.”

The true essence of the event lies in its support for facilitating connections between visitors, breeders and rescue centres. “Hope Alley” not only showcases the technological advancements in aiding cat rescues but also serves as a beacon for those seeking to make a difference. The Cat Show Live invites visitors to witness firsthand the incredible work happening in the realm of feline welfare and encourages active participation in the noble cause of rehoming cats.

The Cat Show Live stands proud in its mission to contribute positively to the community. A significant stride towards this goal includes the annual commitment to donate a percentage of profits to chosen charities, underscoring a dedication to making a lasting impact.

Antinol®, a premium pet health brand, have been announced as the headline sponsors of the first non-competitive cat show. The Big Cat Sanctuary, which uses Antinol for their big cats, will be attending and giving a special talk in the Theatre.
