Leading Engineering Firm Ramps Up Its Fundraising Efforts This Christmas

Birmingham-based engineering firm, adi Group, has increased its already extensive fundraising efforts to support a number of charities this Christmas.

The multidisciplinary business is well known for its responsible business activities, managing an extensive yearly calendar of charitable events.

From supporting causes of importance to setting up its own events to help the local community, the business has once again dedicated its time and resources to making meaningful contributions in 2024.

Kicking off the charitable activities was Save the Children UK’s Christmas Jumper Day, with adi staff raising funds to help children in need around the world, supporting a vital campaign.

Volunteering their time, the team helped out at the Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre gift-wrapping stall, with all donations going directly towards providing care to families and individuals facing life-limiting illnesses.

The team also participated in Operation Christmas Child at The Samaritans’ Purse National Centre in Coventry. adi volunteers unloaded cartons of shoeboxes and moved them around the warehouse, ensuring the gifts reached children across the world, helping bring joy to kids in over 100 countries.

Every year, the firm chooses a charity of the year, establishing a dedicated fundraising partnership. Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity was adi’s partner for the second year in a row, with the business having raised over £130,000 for the charity to date.

The adi team supported its charity of the year at a Christmas grotto; dressed as Santa and his elves, they brought smiles to young patients, handing out presents and helping them enjoy the magic of Christmas.

Commenting on its pledge to do even more to support the local community this festive season, CEO, Alan Lusty, said: “Though we are proud to be partnered with Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Charity as our charity of the year, we are still committed to supporting a broad range of charities.

“This Christmas, I’d like to thank every single employee who volunteered their time, donated money to support a particular cause, and took it upon themselves to find new ways to make a positive impact. I am proud to be at the helm of a company whose responsible business activities are truly a priority.”

One of the multidisciplinary firm’s companies, adi Electrical, also sponsored the Banbury Tractor run in aid of Katharine House Hospice. With a team member driving the tractor, decorated with sparkling lights for the occasion, the event supported the local charity in providing vital care to those with life-limiting illnesses.

To complete the festive fundraising and charitable activities, the adi team will be putting together 47 gift hampers for Lucton House, a residential home for the elderly in Bournville, truly showing its commitment to supporting as many local charities and communities as possible.
