Organisers of this year’s Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival have issued a Low Ticket Warning – with four months still to go!
The long-running three-day event – which runs from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 July 2025 in Moseley Park, Birmingham – has reported a surge in both Day and Weekend tickets, with the final day in particular close to selling out, resulting in the ‘Limited Tickets‘ alert.
This summer’s annual festival opens on Friday (11 July 2025) with a headline appearance from Maribou State alongside DJ sets from Groove Armada and Goldie. Saturday (12 July 2025) boasts a rare UK appearance from US jazz/ funk/ soul icons War, plus Craig Charles and Afrobeat star Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, with Sunday (13 July 2025) featuring US soul singer Jalen Ngonda, MRCY, a DJ set from Somewhere Soul, and closing with the all-conquering Ezra Collective – whose bulging trophy cabinet includes the Group Of The Year 2025 BRIT Award, a clutch of MOBOs and the 2023 Mercury Prize. Following a recent sold-out UK tour, the lauded London collective are also currently in the running for two Jazz FM Awards (Album of the Year and UK Jazz Act).
Meanwhile, the just-revealed Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Food line-up features some of the most renowned independent food producers from across the Midlands, who’ll be serving their very own unique and tasty twists on everything from burgers, pizza, jerk chicken, wraps and curries, to cheesecakes and ice cream.
On-site for the full run of the festival are US style burger champions OPM: Original Patty Men; purveyors of classic Italian pizza Nonna’s Pizzeria; crackin’ curry obsessives SBCC: South Birmingham Curry Club; authentic Jamaican pan jerk street food specialists West Midlands Jerk Centre; Asian-inspired chippy English Indian; 2022’s Street Food Trader Of The Year Fat Snags; street-food steak-house Beef On The Block; Deathrow Sandwiches, bought to you by Harborne favourites, The Plough; Richie’s Shrimps, with their legendary fried shrimps, wings ‘and other tings’; East Asian street food devotees Brúm Mì; and, with a Middle Eastern flavoured menu, Cleopatra’s Kitchen.
Carnival Coffee and Pancakes, artisan ice cream kings Shepherds Ice Cream, and luxury dessert award-winners Urban Cheesecake are also attending.
John Fell, Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul’s Manager, said: “The response to this year’s line-up has been incredible. We can’t believe we’re four months away from the festival, and we’re issuing both Day and Weekend ticket warnings – with the Sunday our fastest selling day ever!
“If you’re thinking about coming to Mostly Jazz this year, now’s the time to lock in your tickets as we’re entering Tier 4 pricing, with only a small allocation left. So, the sooner you book, the cheaper your ticket will be.”
