Following the success of last year’s Stranger Things themed Halloween party, The Night Owl celebrates the 25th anniversary of cult classics Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killers, by throwing a Quentin Tarantino-themed extravaganza on Saturday, October 26th at 9pm. The night will feature a dynamic live band, competitions, cocktails, DJs and more and is sure to be a Halloween party like no other.
The Night Owl, a soul and retro club and live music venue on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth, will be hosting this highly-anticipated event, including a performance from all singing, all dancing tribute band Pulp Friction, a band nationally-renowned for their killer reenactments of classic scenes and soundtracks of Tarantino flicks. They’ll be joined by a Jack Rabbit Slims twist dance contest inspired by the iconic Uma Thurman and John Travolta scene in Pulp Fiction along with cocktails, visuals and prizes for best dressed, Last but not least, resident DJs Mazzy Snape and T-Bird play a selection of rock & roll tunes as well as hit Tarantino classics throughout the night.
Previously, The Night Owl has hosted sell out Halloween events inspired by the cult TV show Stranger Things, which garnered national attention as one of the best nights around for Stranger Things fans. Other nights at the independent club include annual immersive David Bowie and Prince tribute nights, the 2019 answer to Woodstock in the form of ‘Owlstock’, and the first live performance by original Oasis drummer Tony McCaroll in 20 years, celebrating 25 years of Definitely Maybe with tribute band Oasis Maybe.
This year alone, The Night Owl have taken home the ‘Best Club Night’ award for disco dance off Le Freak in the Birmingham Music Awards, along with ‘Brum’s Best Cocktail’ in the Independent Birmingham Awards. Despite being a relatively new venue – launching in 2015 – it has quickly become a firm favourite of soul, mod, rock and live music fans across the Midlands, and has established itself as a figurehead of Digbeth nightlife.
