Kings Heath BID (Business Improvement District) has unveiled details of the annual Kings Heath Winter Fest, taking place on Saturday 14th November, in a day of free festive fun for all the family.
Held on the Kings Heath Village Square, the event will mark the beginning of the Christmas period in Kings Heath, with streetfood stalls, live music, a pop-up market, children’s entertainment, and the big switch on of the town’s Christmas light display by Pudsey Bear and one lucky local child.
This year, organisers Kings Heath BID have joined forces with local streetfood giants Brum Yum Yum, combining Winter Fest with the monthly KingshEATh streetfood market. Food aficionados can look forward to a special streetfood line up of up to twenty stalls, including Baked in Brick, Charlie Dumpling, Smoqued Food, Fancy Fries, Stake Haus, Buddha Belly, Mex It Up and Barebones Pizza, to name but a few serving up a festive feast on the day.
The event will mark the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the area, with a wide selection of pop-up stalls from local businesses and traders showcasing the thriving area’s retail offering at Christmas and all year round.
Live music throughout the day will come from the likes of local bands The Ska 45s and Ryan & Pete of Rhino and the Ranters, with more acts and headliners to be announced.
Amongst the entertainment, there will also be a variety of children’s activities, including traditional fairground rides, to help get the little ones in the Christmas spirit! Children can enter the Winter Fest competition to be in with a chance of helping Pudsey turn on the Christmas lights by drawing a picture of Pudsey in Kings Heath and dropping off the completed drawing at the Kings Heath Library by Tuesday 10th November.
Kings Heath BID Manager, Kate Smart, said:
“After the enormous success of the Kings Heath Street Festival in September, we’re really looking forward to celebrating the start of the festive period here in Kings Heath at Winter Fest! It’s going to be a fantastic day for all the family!”
Kings Heath Winter Fest will take place on Kings Heath Village Square, from 12-6pm, Saturday 14th November.
