B EATS LAUNCHES THREE NEW BRUMMIE BACON CAKES FOR CHRISTMAS

B:Eats, the daytime café located in Symphony Hall, has launched three new versions of its iconic Brummie Bacon Cake, including a Festive Bacon Cake.

The Brummie Bacon Cake is a savoury scone with cheese and bacon, traditionally eaten at breakfast. What makes the Brummie Bacon Cake unusual and unique from other scones is that the recipe calls for a secret blend of spices, tomato ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.

The Festive Bacon Cake amplifies the usual recipe with the addition of cranberries and stuffing.

B:Eats has also introduced a Brummie Butter Chicken Cake, which includes chargrilled chicken, that has been marinated in a special blend of Indian herbs and spices, as well as a new Sundried Tomato and Feta Cake.

The three new variations join the original cake and vegan version, the ‘Fake-Un Cake’, on B:Eats’ menu and will be available all year round.

The Brummie Bacon Cake is close to the heart of B:Eats Head Chef Lee Hollington, who discovered his grandfather’s original recipe, which was used to feed the troops during World War II, and then adapted it to be served in B:Eats.

Lee Hollington, Head Chef at B:Eats said: “We had a lot of fun testing out new recipes to find some delicious new flavours for our Brummie Bacon Cake, and we hope that people enjoy trying them as much as we enjoy making them. The Festive Bacon Cake is the perfect post-shopping treat, but we think it’s too good to only be able to eat it at Christmas, so we’re leaving it on the menu all year round!”

B:Eats is open Monday to Saturday from 11am – 4pm.
