A candlelit Adele tribute concert will fill Birmingham Cathedral with hits including Hello, Rolling in the Deep and Skyfall to raise vital funds for the NSPCC.
Singer Chloe Barry will be joined by a live pianist for the charity concert ‘To Be Loved’, on Thursday, November 23, with tickets available from £15.
Birmingham is the home to both the NSPCC Helpline and Childline – two crucial services that will be supported by the concert’s proceeds. Within the last year, Birmingham Childline alone has delivered over 16,500 counselling sessions to children and young people from across the country.
Chloe said: “It is a privilege to be performing in my hometown at such a beautiful venue as Birmingham Cathedral. Having performed my tribute to Adele in so many settings, this show will be unique, intimate, heart-warming and the perfect show for all Adele fans.
“The NSPCC is an incredible charity and does so much for children in the West Midlands and throughout the country. It means a lot to be supporting such a great cause, a cause I’ve supported and performed for now for many years.”
The Childline team in Birmingham are among an army of volunteers who are available to offer support and guidance to children and young people across the country every day of the year, even on Christmas Day.
Caroline Morgan, NSPCC Supporter Fundraising Manager for the Midlands, said: “We’re all Adele fans and Chloe is utterly fabulous, so this is going to be an incredible concert. I would like to thank Chloe, Birmingham Cathedral and our long-term supporters, McAuliffe, for helping us to put on such an exciting night.
“Every ticket bought will help raise vital funds for the NSPCC and Childline. Despite being a large charity, a majority of our income comes from private donations. So, every penny raised will help make all the difference for children this Christmas.”
VIP tickets for the show are also available, costing £30, and give attendees the chance to enjoy a pre-event drinks reception along with prime seating. For more information or to book a place, go to www.birminghamcathedral.com/event/adele-performed-by-chloe-barry/
Also this Christmas, the NSPCC is asking people in Birmingham to dust off their walking boots and to get into the festive spirit by taking part in the charity’s Walk for Children on Friday, December 22.
Walk for Children is a sponsored 5km walk where families, friends and colleagues can get together on the longest night of the year to raise money to support the NSPCC and Childline this Christmas.
