Steven Caulker in an interview with Theyscored.com has predicted that Birmingham City Football Club will be promoted this year to the championship.
The former football player that has represented QPR, Liverpool, Fenerbache, Southampton, Spurs, Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol City, Dundee, Alanyaspor, Gaziantep FK, Karagümrük, Wigan, A. Keciörengücü and Malaga City as player / coach has made his feelings clear by admitting the following during his interview when asked who would be going up and down in League 1 this season 2024 / 2025:
“So I think for me, Bolton go up. I think Bolton will win the league. The heartache of what they went through this year will inspire them and motivate them to make sure it doesn’t happen again. So I’m going to go with Bolton to win the league and I’m going to go with Birmingham to bounce straight back up. They had a nightmare season last year, just a change of management at the wrong time and they paid the price. I just think that a club of that size with that backing will be promoted again this season. For me, going down, I would go with Exeter. I felt that they struggled a little bit last year. I didn’t think they were consistent enough. So I feel Exeter may struggle and I’d go also with Northampton. I think those are two teams that I could see having a bit of a dogfight to stay in the league.”
Time will tell but we hope that Steven is indeed right!
