Visitors can explore chocolate, craft beer, gin, wine and street food, in a series of masterclasses now available to book at Birmingham Independent Food Fair.
The festival of local food has rounded up some of Birmingham’s top experts.They will share their wisdom with those looking to delve deeper into their favourite food or drink.
Whether it’s Chocolate Tasting, Beer Boot Camp or Wine for Adventurers, there’s something to suit all curious tastebuds.

1. Gin-troductions: Getting to Know Gin (with Carl Hawkins)
Gin is a glorious spirit! Join Carl ‘Gintle-man’ Hawkins – one of Birmingham’s master mixologists – for a tasting of special gins. You’ll recognise him – he used to be at The Jekyll and Hyde and now works at Opus. You’ll also learn a bit of light-hearted history and background to the vintage drink. (3 gins, 45 mins)

2. Chocolate Tasting (with Neil Hughes of Kneals Chocolates)
Award winning local chocolatier Kneals Chocolates returns to the fair for a second year with a chocolate tasting masterclass. Join Neil Hughes to taste through a series of hand-crafted chocolates and learn how the delicious treat is made (45 mins)

3. Beer Boot Camp (with David Shipman)
Get a liquid education with 4 beers exploring the key brewing ingredients: water, malt, hops & yeast. David Shipman (Birmingham Beer Bash, Otherton Ales) explains the brewing process and how each ingredient adds to the finished product. (4 beers, 45 mins)

4. Street Food: How to Set Up Your Own Business (with Alan Fox NCASS)
