Birmingham Reggae Outfit To Host Live Music Christmas Event at Popular Digbeth Venue

On Saturday 28th December, the inaugural Lobster Shack Christmas Cracker will take place at Digbeth’s hippest live music venue, The Night Owl, with live performances from two of Birmingham’s premium Reggae bands Lobster and Culture Dub Orchestra

Expect an evening of melodic roots reggae, deep dub vibrations, stampeding ska punk and a sack full of Christmas surprises thrown into the mix!

Lobster are a six-piece reggae punk band hailing from Birmingham, UK. Known for their infectious rhythms and lyrical social commentary, Lobster delivers dance floor-filling grooves that draw inspiration from Jamaica’s rich musical heritage and the UK’s diverse subcultures.

Their fusion sound, which spans ska, dancehall, punk rock, hip-hop, and dub, has seen them captivate audiences across Birmingham and beyond. Lobster’s live energy has graced venues and festivals throughout the UK, from squats to Selfridges, secret warehouses to TEDx stages.

Since 2015, Lobster have hosted their club night Lobster Shack.

With dub firmly at the core Culture Dub Orchestra explores a range of cultures, backgrounds, and musical styles. A heavy roots drum and bass section is coloured by a variety of instruments and sounds, wild guitar solos, sound system brass, euphoric keys, and big percussion breaks; all coming together to take your mind on a spiritual nomadic journey. Think Jah Shaka meets Santana Soul Sacrifice. Although at the core Culture Dub Orchestra are an instrumental band, they often feature guest vocalists from varied musical backgrounds.
