BRAND TAP BRINGS LUXURY VODKA BRAND FROM OZ TO THE UK

Midlands based Brand Tap Brands is bringing Mother of Pearl Spirits from Australia to the UK market. As the official distributor, Brand Tap Brands will facilitate the availability of Mother of Pearl’s unique range, catering to the discerning tastes of spirit enthusiasts across the country.

A grand unveiling of the Vodka of the Sea and Gin of the Sea will take place at an exclusive event on Tuesday 19th November at Birmingham’s swanky Oyster Club. As an Australian-owned company, Mother of Pearl Spirits aims to redefine the global spirits landscape by producing a premium vodka that reflects the essence of the Australian lifestyle and resonates with a youthful, feminine appeal.

Mother of Pearl Vodka represents a pinnacle of craftsmanship—a premium grape vodka inspired by Australia’s crystal-clear waters, marrying coastal minerality with a smooth, creamy finish reminiscent of pearls. This remarkable spirit is set to redefine the premium vodka market in Australia, bringing a taste of the sea to discerning palates.

Crafted from the finest Australian grapes, Mother of Pearl Vodka is particularly aimed at the burgeoning female audience, emphasising a neutral, palatable profile that makes it the preferred choice for mixologists and bartenders alike, allowing them to create exceptional cocktails.

Founded by Nicola Thompson Hancock and her husband Nic Hancock, Mother of Pearl Spirits was the first Australian producer to adopt the Frugal Bottle Down Under due to its sustainability credentials and is the first to export its paper bottles back to the UK.

“Whether presented in our eco-friendly paper bottles or our elegant glass designs, Mother of Pearl encapsulates what the world admires about Australia—its stunning oceans, breathtaking landscapes, and effortless style.

A harmonious blend of nature’s purest elements has culminated in a product of rare beauty. Our commitment to crafting vodka and gin that are both unique and premium stems from our passion for excellence. We eagerly anticipate sharing this experience with the UK.” said Nicola Thompson Hancock.

Brand Tap Brands, Ashleigh Bourne added: “There’s a real buzz about these bottles in the industry, and we believe Mother of Pearl Spirits can help to deliver remarkable spirits. We are particularly excited that Mother of Pearl is being bottled in the Midlands.

“This local approach not only enhances the quality of our spirits but also embodies our commitment to sustainability and community. By harnessing local resources and talent, we aim to set a new standard for eco-friendly packaging in the beverage industry.”

Made from 94% recycled cardboard, the Frugal Bottle is five times lighter than a glass bottle and crucially uses six times less carbon and energy to produce and dispose. This means it has a carbon footprint 84% lower than glass bottles. It also offers 360° branding for exceptional shelf standout

Mother of Pearl Spirits were so impressed with the paper Frugal Bottle they’ve agreed to buy a machine to make them for other drinks brands in Australia and Southeast Asia.

Nicola also revealed that Mother of Pearl Spirits is the first brand to use Frugalpac’s latest more sustainable and recyclable mono-material pouch for its Gin of the Sea. The polyethylene-based solution replaces the MET PET pouch and will be available from April 2025.

The UK launch follows Mother of Pearl’s earlier introduction of its paper bottles to Australia, Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Mother of Pearl also announced this year its intention to produce Frugal Bottles in Australia for the Australian, New Zealand and Southeast Asian markets to help other drinks producers to decarbonise.
