Pizza fans, pay attention! A festival dedicated to entirely to pizza is coming to Lab 11 Complex, in Digbeth on Saturday 30th April. Birmingham warmly welcomes Birmingham’s first ever Pizza Festival, as presented by street-food organisers Taste and Liquor and music festival curators Shaanti.
We’ve had beer festivals, rum festivals and even an Indian food festival – and now finally it is the turn of the humble pizza as it gets its own independent festival in Birmingham. Good news for cheese and double-toppings lovers! Brum Big Fat Pizza Festival will be serving up all your favorite pizzas, to send you into a double-cheese coma.
The festival will spread across the whole complex in various arches and outside terraces from day-to-evening. Traditional and popular toppings will, of course, be available with over ten independent pizza traders like Fire & Slice, Slice N Easy, Pizza Traders, Caspian Pizza, Artastry Sindy (Vegan Pizza) will be joining the indulgence line-up!! For those adventurous types check out Simply Gourmet, The Rustic Crust, Soleuna Pizza, Bare Bones Pizza and others for some seriously unique toppings.
Alongside this will be six additional street-food and desert traders like Poutine Canteen, NL Foods, Shake That Ting (Milkshakes), Classic Ices (Vintage Ice-Cream Van) and Jack Lewis will be dishing up some more heavenly-sweet goodness.
But there’s more, if you fancy sides with that order, how about ordering Smoke and Spice’s Chili and Cheese Hot Dogs with Herby Fries or head toward the and Coca Cola Bar, Gin Bar and Big Fat Cocktail Shack offering you all sorts of deliciously crafted drinks to quench your thirst right through to the night.
Adding to the extravaganza, the festival will be supporting local artists, MC’s and top DJ’s from the clubbing fraternity will be spinning the tunes from day-to-night, plus free Face-Painting, a Terrace Cinema screening 80’s classic films, Retro Arcade Games Zone and loads more. If you fancy a slice of the action, grab your tickets fast as 60% of its tickets have already gone, the first week it was announced.
With only a few weeks to go if you like your crusts thin and crispy, and if the smell of a good wood-fired oven makes you drool, this is the party for you.
