City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra – Gramophone Award

Gramophone magazine – one of classical music’s oldest and most prestigious monthly magazines – has announced the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as amongst 10 nominated ensembles for the Gramophone 2020 Orchestra of the Year Award. This award is entirely voted for by the public – around the world.

The competition standard is extremely high – the CBSO are up against ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as orchestras from Japan, France, Germany and Norway.

In the orchestra’s Centenary year, obviously it would be so wonderful to win! Especially as so many Centenary celebrations have been cancelled by the Covid19 crisis.

Help support the CBSO by voting for them and bring the awards to Brum.

The orchestra have tweeted about the nomination here.
