Conference Aston at UK’s leading events showcase The Meetings Show 2024 championing sustainable events in the Midlands

Birmingham’s leading residential events venue, Conference Aston, will be attending The Meetings Show 2024 on 19th June at ExCeL London.

The Meetings Show, the UK’s leading exhibition for event, meeting, and conference professionals, is now in its eleventh year and hosts visitors from over 70 destinations worldwide.  Organised by sector experts, the show will include seminars on key topics, such as the use of AI in the workplace and raising security standards, and will offer a wide range of networking opportunities across the three day event.

In 2023, the venue welcomed over 53,000 hotel guests and conference delegates to the venue, supporting 29 industries and hosting over 880 events. The venue can accommodate everything from board meetings for six, to large residential conferences for over 200, with food and accommodation provided on site.

Conference Aston is part of a delegation promoting academic venues on the national stage. As the leading academic venue in Greater Birmingham, Conference Aston attracts a significant number of academic related conferences every year. In the past 12 months alone, it has welcomed renowned conferences such as BERA, Visionary, and the British Veterinary and Zoological Society.

Birmingham stands out as a premier destination for academic events due to its exceptional central location, rich cultural heritage, robust infrastructure and vibrant educational community. The West Midlands region, home to nine leading universities with academic venues and educational facilities, offers numerous options for hosting events. Among these, Conference Aston is championing sustainability within meetings and events, having secured both Green Tourism Gold and Sustainable Restaurant Association 2-Stars. The venue provides a range of accommodation, meeting, training, and event spaces amidst the green, landscaped surroundings of Aston University’s ISO14001 accredited campus in the heart of the city.

Samantha Brown, Head of Conference Aston, said: “We are thrilled to be attending The Meetings Show for the first time since the pandemic. This highlights the impressive recovery and outstanding performance Conference Aston has achieved over the past couple of years including playing a huge role in the 2022 Commonwealth Games hosted in Birmingham.

“We look forward to meeting with numerous other members at the show and eagerly anticipate engaging with event professionals, fellow venues, and various individuals from across the sector. This show offers a convenient platform for meeting, conference and event planners to connect with the finest conference spaces in the UK alongside some fantastic opportunities to network.”
