Family favourite, The Boar’s Head unveils a new look as buffet cuisine makes a glorious comeback

The Boar’s Head World Buffet is set to unveil its newly refurbished venue this November. Located near the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, the restaurant offers an extensive array of dishes inspired by global cuisines, all prepared by highly trained international chefs.

Originally built in 1793 as an inn by a local family, The Boar’s Head holds a significant place in Birmingham’s history, reflecting the evolution of local hospitality and culture. The transition to a multi-international restaurant in 2010 by local entrepreneurs illustrates a modern approach, blending traditional roots with contemporary dining trends. Buffet dining has seen a resurgence, and this shift not only caters to diverse culinary tastes but also keeps the Boar’s Head relevant in today’s ever changing food scene. The restaurant serves approximately 3,000 covers each week, attracting patrons from across the West Midlands who come to enjoy its offerings.

The restaurant is now under the ownership of Chef Ruchika and Sal, a dynamic husband and wife duo with a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry. Together, they bring over 50 years of combined expertise, having worked with esteemed national and international brands such as Las Iguanas, TGI Friday, Loch Fyne and Red Hot World Buffet.

Chef Ruchika is a trained continental chef with a keen focus on training, development and innovative product creation. Sal excels as an operations professional, specialising in new restaurant development and human resource management. Their complementary skills and industry knowledge position them to elevate the Boar’s Head to new heights of excellence.
