MONTY PYTHON’S LIFE OF BRIAN @ St Thomas’ Church | Friendly Neighbourhood Cinema

Ahead of FNC’s upcoming screening of LIFE OF BRIAN, St Thomas’ reverend, Andrew, issues the gentle reminder to audiences “He is not the messiah.”

FNC Founder Daniel Kearns says: “The best Friendly Neighbourhood Cinema shows are site-specific, where the location context enhances the viewing experience of the film. Similar to Dawn of the Dead in an abandoned Merry Hill shopping centre, Life of Brian in a church is a really special screening I’m very excited to bring into reality. I think it’s going to be quite surreal.”

However, in an attempt to hide from the Romans, he relays some of the teachings he heard from Jesus, which ends up spurring a crowd to believe he is the Messiah. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Richard Curtis’ Pulp Fiction: there, someone said it. Friendly Neighbourhood Cinema returns to Green Duck brewery for a special GINEMA screening of Curtis’ Christmas romcom-megasaurus, LOVE ACTUALLY. Pure distillation of British wit and problematic yet endearing mismash romantic tropes that only gets better with Gin!

Nine intertwined stories examine the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: love. Among the characters explored are David (Hugh Grant), the handsome newly elected British prime minister who falls for a young junior staffer (Martine McCutcheon), Sarah (Laura Linney), a graphic designer whose devotion to her mentally ill brother complicates her love life, and Harry (Alan Rickman), a married man tempted by his attractive new secretary.

Hosted by Stourbridge’s independent Green Duck Brewery, Gainsborough Trading Estate, Rufford Rd, Stourbridge DY9 7ND.
