Ghetto Golf Birmingham, the Digbeth-based crazy golf venue, will be undergoing a refurbishment and rebrand this summer.
Following an investment of £500k into The Big Fang Collective’s sites, their Birmingham venue will re-open as Golf Fang on 29th July. The refurbishment will introduce a range of brand new courses and artwork inside the venue. The sites in Liverpool and Newcastle will also rebrand as Golf Fang on the same day.
The Liverpool-based entertainment venue operator, founded by Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger, was founded in 2016 and opened their first Ghetto Golf in Liverpool inside of the 25,000 square-foot Cains Brewery.
The Golf Fang concept offers an 18-hole golf course in an environment surrounded by bespoke art, combining crazy golf with theatre, cocktails, DJs and street food in a ‘sprayground’, where the venue provide selected graffiti writers with golf courses built into unique designs such as buses, shop fronts, film studios and pubs.
The company now own and operate five sites across the UK, in Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield and Glasgow. Big Fang Collective are now looking to expand further and acquire new venues across UK cities, with seven already planned to launch across the next two years, including Leeds this winter.
Big Fang Collective’s focus on delivering next level entertainment spaces, coupled with the brands’ market-disrupting nature, attracted investment from Imbiba earlier this year. Renowned for investing in high growth, category leading leisure and entertainment brands, Imbiba invested £5m in Big Fang Collective to aid its growth in the UK and internationally. The investment will help the company as they look to expand across the UK.
Kip Piper, co-founder of Big Fang Collective, said,
We’re really looking forward to revealing a brand new Digbeth space. Digbeth has always been extremely welcoming to our brand and there’s a great atmosphere. It’s great to have a cohesive brand across all of our sites now that our Birmingham, Newcastle and Liverpool sites are joining Sheffield, Glasgow and Leeds, which opens this winter, under the Golf Fang umbrella. The refurbishment will feature some brand new experiential elements and new courses. We can’t wait to see everybody interact with the updated space and we’re excited to celebrate with everybody when we re-open!
The venue will be open seven days per week from midday til 1am Monday to Friday, 10:30am til 1am on Saturday and 11am til 12am on Sunday, with bookings and walk-ins both accepted.
