Hands On Sensuality: Valentine’s Event, where Kaye Winwood will be joined by Theatre Producer/Food Curator Christie Hill and Dr Annalise Weckesser from Birmingham City University’s VQ research team to present a unique, women-only event.
Through a specially designed tasting menu and discussion the evening’s focus will be in relation to the importance of women appreciating their bodies as agents of pleasure for themselves rather than as objects of pleasure for others.
The event will take place on Thursday 14th February, more details can be found here.
The end of 2018 saw the running of Kaye’s intimate Hands On Sensuality dining experience at Flat 8. These events explored Kaye’s research into ‘expanded dining’ and saw the hand used as a re-imagined vessel for the consumption of food, playing with ideas of sensation and pleasure.
Tom Glover reviewed Hands On Sensuality in ArtsBrum:
This event is a feast for the senses, it is a performance that requires indulgence, a combination of the social, artistic and technical elements of food and its consumption. Kaye’s ability to bring people together through these carefully crafted morsels speaks to the power of her artform.
