The exhibition ‘A Decade in Digbeth’ launches at Digbeth Art Space in Zellig on 23rd August, showcasing over ten years’ worth of art from the legendary local artist, Jinxy. A number of works have been created especially for the exhibition and feature a range of signature techniques including coffee painting, acrylic spin painting, squiggly noodle paintings and more figurative works.
Jinxy is a contemporary artist who in 2013 made Birmingham’s creative quarter, Digbeth, his painting home. Drawing from his internal vision, his highly textured and vibrant pieces invite the viewer to take a closer look to find their own personal meaning – or to purely admire Jinxy’s incredible use of colour and shape.
The versatile artist often works between multiple forms of media, moving deftly between acrylic, pencil, paint, pen, graphite, 3-dimensional works and more. Based in the Zellig building, the artist is available for commissions and ideas.
The free exhibition will be on public display and run until 23rd September, offering plenty of time to view the unique style Jinxy has become renowned for. An exclusive private view event will be taking place on 23rd August between 5.30pm – 9pm with music, drinks and nibbles. Attendance is free and can be booked via Eventbrite here.
