Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity is calling on caring supporters and members of the public to pull on their best Christmas sweaters or wear their favourite festive accessories and do their bit in their festive kit on Wednesday 11 December, for its annual Jolly Jumper Day.
Supporters and staff at the two hospitals will be wearing their Christmas jumpers and other festive finery to spread yuletide cheer and help make the hospitals feel magical this Christmas and they want you to join them.
To get involved, all you need to do is dust off your favourite Christmas pullover, rally your friends, family, schoolmates, or work colleagues to do the same, and make a suggested donation of £2 each to the hospitals. You could even add to the fun, by awarding prizes for the most fantastically festive and ho-ho-horrendous sweaters. Alternatively, if Christmas jumpers aren’t for you or your job prevents you from wearing one, you could don some holiday headgear, seasonal socks or your favourite festive accessories.
By taking part in Jolly Jumper Day for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, supporters will help make Christmas magical for young patients who are too poorly to be at home over the festive period, and ensure they and their families can still make precious memories that will last a lifetime.
As one of only two dedicated women’s hospital in the UK and with the largest single-site maternity unit in the country, delivering more than 8,200 babies a year, anyone who chooses to take part in Jolly Jumper Day for Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity will be supporting the 50,000 women, babies and families the hospital treats every year.
Annie Eytle, Head of Public Fundraising at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “If you’re looking for a fun and easy way to get involved and support our patients and families this Christmas, Jolly Jumper Day is for you! It’s not just about jumpers either – simply put on something festive and donate whatever you can. Don’t worry if you can’t make Wednesday 11 December, you can wear your festive finery on a day to suit you, just make sure you tell us when you register your event.”
Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity is also hoping to see plenty of activity on social media on the day. Just post a selfie in your festive kit to your preferred platform using the hashtag #JollyJumperDay and join the trend.
If wearing woolly jumpers isn’t really your style or you’re looking for a fun, free and low-cost activity for the family this Christmas, be sure to check out the Reindeer Trail in Birmingham City centre. Central BID Birmingham has placed nine beautifully designed reindeer sculptures around the city to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, so why not try and find them all?
