This year is the 20th Anniversary of Celebrating Sanctuary Birmingham.
To mark the occasion, we launched a year long program called We Are Birmingham 2022. The programme has been an opportunity to reflect on and showcase 20 years of diversity and culture in Birmingham’s Music and Arts Scene.
As the year comes to an end so does our birthday programme.
But it wouldn’t be a birthday without a party to celebrate!
The 17th December is our finale celebration, bringing you music, spoken word, short films and exhibitions that celebrate Birmingham’s people as well as CSB’s 20yr history.
Here’s what we have in store for you:
– 20 Years of CSB Exhibition (from 12th to 17th Dec)
– We Are Birmingham Self Portrait Exhibition showreel
– 20 Years of CSB Short Film
– Spoken Word from Ahmed Magare (Somalia) and Mohamad Ali (Syria)
– Exclusive live music commission from Germa Adan and Xhosa Cole (Haiti / UK) funded through The Feeney Trust
– More live music from TwoManTing (Sierra Leone / UK) and Muha (Ukraine / Latvia / UK)
We would love to see you there, which is why it’s all free!
