Drayton Manor has announced the opening of a new on-site museum dedicated entirely to showcasing its rich heritage, as part of the park’s 75th anniversary celebrations.
Officially opening its doors on Friday 4 April, the museum is located in Falls Theatre and is packed with artifacts, vintage memorabilia, and iconic moments from the park’s incredible history. From beloved old rides to nostalgic treasures, guests can take a trip down memory lane and celebrate the magic of Drayton Manor through the decades.
The 75th-anniversary museum, which will be open until the end of the summer season, will feature more than 200 special photos and highlight the story of George and Vera Bryan, who transformed the land from a simple countryside day-trip destination into a theme park for families to enjoy for many years to come.
Victoria Lynn, managing director at Drayton Manor Resort, said: “Our 75th anniversary is such a fantastic milestone for the park that it felt fitting to open a museum entirely dedicated to the wonderful memories created here over the years.
“From opening in 1950 with just three rides, rowing boats, pedal cars and some dodgems, Drayton Manor has seen so many changes over the last seven decades, and we wanted to take the opportunity to showcase everything that makes Drayton Manor so special.
“Throughout the year, we’ll be celebrating in style, with monthly fireworks extravaganzas, a diamond easter egg hunt, plus a huge variety of fantastic family entertainment, so there’s plenty for guests to enjoy every time they visit.”
In addition to a packed events schedule, Drayton Manor offers more than 50 exhilarating rides and attractions, plus Europe’s only Thomas Land, and a zoo that is home to over 500 animals from all over the world.
