The Core Youth Theatre is an exciting new theatre group for aspiring young actors aged 7-16, starting this September at The Core in Solihull.
The Core Youth Theatre offers a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to develop their theatre skills and explore their creativity in a fun and engaging environment, under the guidance of professional theatre makers and actors Skylar Mabry and Kelly Casey.
For children aged 7-10, the group will meet every Thursday from 4.30pm-5.30pm. Participants will learn the basics of acting, improvisation, and storytelling. They’ll also take part in fun, interactive games and exercises designed to boost confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. These sessions will encourage a love for the performing arts, all while making new friends and having a great time in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere!
For children and young people aged 11-16, the group will meet every Thursday from 5.45pm to 7.15pm. Participants will enhance their performance techniques, explore creative storytelling, and increase their confidence on stage. They’ll develop wider drama skills and make meaningful, interesting and entertaining theatre.
The Core Youth Theatre Group is ideal for aspiring young performers, or any young person who just loves acting or being on stage. Participants will also have the amazing opportunity to put what they’ve learnt into practice, with the opportunity to take part in a minimum of two performances a year – one in the Studio at The Core, and another in the main house when it reopens in 2025.
The Core Youth Theatre starts on 12 September. To find out more about joining, call The Core Box Office on 0121 704 6962 or visit www.thecoretheatresolihull.co.uk
