An online workshop with Adrian B Earle and Kibriya Mehrban responding to the statues of Birmingham.
Our city is littered with commemorations and decorations celebrating histories many of us rarely think about, but what do the plaques leave unsaid? Join Adrian B Earle and Kibriya Mehrban for a writing workshop exploring the statues of Birmingham.
We’ll be providing inspiration and feedback to help you to write a piece to be recorded and digitally pinned to a location of your choice for users of the Overhear app to hunt down and collect.
A drop-in Zoom call will be open from 10am-4pm, where we’ll be researching, discussing and writing together with the aim of creating pieces to be recorded and uploaded to an Overhear map. Participants will have the option to take a week post-workshop to develop and edit their pieces before recording.
We ask that you download the Overhear app (available on Apple and Android devices) and sign-up for a free account before you register for this workshop, to help us keep track of participants using the app to upload their work.
