Pride and Prejudice (sort of) and Death of a Salesman

Pride And Prejudice* (*sort of) will be returning to Birmingham Rep for the third time this year with a brand-new version of the production directed by its writer, Isobel McArthur. McArthur, has garnered unprecedented acclaim as a writer as a winner of both the Evening Standard Award and an Olivier Award.

This is a unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s classic love story. Men, money and microphones will be fought over in this irreverent but affectionate adaptation where the stakes couldn’t be higher when it comes to romance. The show features a string of pop classics including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and You’re So Vain.  It’s the 1800s.  It’s party time.  Let the ruthless matchmaking begin.

For this new production, the lead cast consists of: Emma Rose Creaner (Peter Pan, Gate Theatre, Dublin and Tartuffe, Abbey Theatre, Dublin) as role as Tillie, Charlotte Lucas, Charles Bingley and Miss Bingley; Eleanor Kane (Fun Home, Young Vic and Hex at the National Theatre) as Anne, Mary Bennet, Lydia Bennet and Mr Gardiner; Rhianna McGreevy (The Winter’s Tale, Shakespeare’s Globe) as Flo, Mrs Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy; Naomi Preston Low (Further Than the Furthest Thing, Minack Theatre and The Wind and The Rain, Finborough Theatre) as Effie and Elizabeth Bennet; and Christine Steel (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Scottish National Orchestra) as Clara, Jane Bennet, and Lady Catherine de Burgh.

Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) will be staged at The Rep from Mon 3 – Sat 8 Feb before continuing their tour.
