Temper & Brown a cherished gem in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, is gearing up for a special celebration to mark National Rum Punch Day.
On Friday 20th September, the historic pub is calling all rum lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike to indulge in a vibrant evening filled with cool rum creations, live music, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Kromanti rum will be hosting a Rum Masterclass and tastings. Kromanti Rum is an award-winning libation, honouring the true spirit of Island life with its authentic mix of Caribbean fruits, herbs and spices. Taking its name from the Kromanti people, the rums are infused with the ingredients that provided physical and spiritual nourishment to its community.
The rum is a passion project for Cashain David and his daughter Danielle David. A sense of meaningful connection and passion for their shared heritage also sits at the heart of their work. Alongside her father, Danielle is all in on sharing the authentic connection to her roots and celebrating and sharing its bounty with Kromanti Rum.
Danielle said, “I had already been working in the shipping industry for twelve years. After over a decade, I realised I just didn’t feel any sense of belonging. Where I did feel this, was at home. So I joined my Dad on his mission to change the rum industry and make it more like the home we know and love.”
On the night the Kromanti team will be explaining the use of plantain and tamarind in his rums, with bottles available to buy.
“We’re excited to host this event and celebrate National Rum Punch Day with our community,” said Cashain. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase the versatility of rum and bring people together for a night of great drinks and even better company.”
As a pub renowned for its eclectic selection of spirits and commitment to quality, Temper & Brown has curated a unique menu of rum punches, each crafted with the finest ingredients and a touch of creative flair. Whether you’re a fan of the classic Caribbean punch or eager to try a modern twist on this beloved cocktail, there’s something to delight every palate.
Pub owner Roifield Brown said, “Great rum also demands great food, so Cajun Soul will be providing some rum-tastic dishes to complement the rums.”
“We are also grateful to Burning Barn and Duppy Share who will creating some signature cocktails for the evening.
Whether you’re a seasoned rum aficionado or just looking to enjoy a fantastic cocktail, there’s no better place to be on National Rum Punch Day.
