Calling all fierce females and independent women – if you’ve ever dreamt of strutting your stuff like Beyoncé, a brand new dance and fitness experience has arrived to Birmingham to help unleash your inner pop diva.
School of SOS is a national dance company on a mission to empower a generation to believe in themselves, using dance as a source of strength, power and confidence. The popular dance classes have now arrived in Birmingham for the first time.
Taking place every Tuesday at Nicholson School of Dance in Digbeth, certified dance teacher Amanda Radek breaks down choreography by celebrity instructors so it’s super easy to learn, even if you’ve never been to a dance class before.
The School of SOS was founded by professional backing dancer Bonnie Parsons, who grew up in Birmingham. Bonnie founded Seen on Screen in London while dancing for the likes of Kelly Rowland, Florence & The Machine and The X Factor. School of SOS was founded to bring Seen on Screen’s empowering routines to dance lovers across the country (and across the globe!) and is the world’s first company with all-female investors.
Amanda Radek said: “School of SOS is such an amazing community of passionate, supportive and inspiring women, and I’m so honoured to be bringing this unique experience to the second city for the first time.
“Our vision is all about empowering our students, who we call Queens, to feel strong and sexy to feel-good pop hits from the likes of Beyoncé, Lizzo and Little Mix. We’ll be cheering you on all the way as you strut your way to confidence!”
School of SOS Birmingham dance classes take place every Tuesday evening from 7pm – 8pm at Nicholson School of Dance, Minerva Works for students over the age of 16. Absolute beginners are welcome.
