Second City Sin – O2 Institute

Birmingham based rock band Second City Sin are set to release new single ‘Morose’ on Valentine’s Day 2025.

Morose’ is the next page in the emergence of Second City Sin on the West Midlands music scene. Growing upon the success of anthemic debut single ‘Under The Landslide’ (which has surpassed 3,000 Spotify streams), ‘Morose’ introduces an edgier, darker and grittier side to the band, while still maintaining razor sharp hooks.

Again produced by Gavin Monaghan (Robert Plant, Editors, Kid Kapichi), ‘Morose’ captures emotive lyrics and riff-filled energy. Instrumentally written by guitarist Chaz Carr while mourning the passing of a friend, vocalist Tyler Quantrill details an autobiographical ongoing mental health battle in the somber and sorrowful lyrics, reflecting on the present moment of the human condition, with a desire to grow and flourish into a better way of life.

Formed out of a desire to create riff-driven, high energy rock music, Second City Sin honour the influences of hard and blues rock, and the influence of Birmingham music and culture, while delivering a fresh, energetic sound and performance.

Consisting of Tyler Quantrill (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Chaz Carr (Lead Guitar), Neva Bevan (Bass) & Jacob Lancaster (Drums), the band’s high octane live show will headline the O2 Institute 3 on 8th March 2025.
