The much-loved Glassworks reopened on Thursday 6th February, unveiling a £260k transformation that introduces the unique “Two Door Pub” concept, offering a brilliant bar area and dedicated family lounge.
The Glassworks is located near Brook Field and Kinver Street Play Park, locals can now drop by for a pint and a bite to eat, celebrating unmissable moments in the heart of the community. The new bar area is complete with 4K big-screen TVs, Sky Sports, TNT and a pool table which are exciting new amenities for the pub.
The new design divides the pub into two distinct areas: a vibrant locals’ bar and a warm, welcoming family lounge, designed around families’ needs and a place for everyone to feel they belong. A central partition creates these separate spaces, allowing guests to enjoy everything they love under one roof.
The Glassworks caters to different occasions, bringing the community together while providing guests the freedom to choose their perfect experience – all without compromise. Now open, Marston’s latest ‘Two Door Pub’ has seen the introduction of new wallpaper, stylish lighting, new seating, and uplifting colour palettes.
Kevin Dillion was chosen as the pub’s community hero to pull the first pint in celebration of the re-opening. Kevin, a boxing coach from Brierley Hill, has earned recognition for his tireless work in uplifting young people and addressing mental health issues head-on, and he is a real pinocle of the Stourbridge community. He also runs the ‘Black Country Blokes’ podcast, which he started in 2019 with new episodes out every Tuesday at 7.30pm. He said, “community is so important when it comes to mental health. Talking is the key. Whether it’s down at the pub or at the gym, find a like-minded soul who you can talk and listen; that conversation might just save someone’s life.”
Situated in the heart of Stourbridge, The Glassworks is a dog-friendly pub with a community feel. There is a large beer garden, giving guests the option to drink and dine inside alfresco. The new-look pub is also equipped with a function room for any occasion.
The pub continues to serve its extremely popular pub favourites, with kids menu and adult options available.
With over 1,600 pubs and bars across England, Scotland, and Wales, Marston’s locations range from traditional local and family-friendly pubs to venues designed for a warm, timeless country pub atmosphere offering shared good times for everyone.
General Manager John Griffiths said “We are so excited to open the doors of The Glassworks and to show our wonderful guests the result of our amazing refresh. With the inclusion of new TV’s and sports channels, we hope our customers join us to enjoy this year’s big summer of sports! We have invested a huge £260k into breathing new life into the venue and can’t wait to welcome our loyal customers back.”
