As the nights grow darker through October, something strange is happening in Digbeth. With the spirit of Halloween in full swing, soul and retro club and live music venue The Night Owl is transforming itself for three days of live music, competitions, parties and DJs to rival any other.
Based on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth, The Night Owl boasts three Halloween events to suit everyone’s darkest desires. After their monthly club night Le Freak won the award for Best Club Night at the Birmingham Music Awards, The Night Owl are taking their disco, funk, soul and boogie night and turning it into a Super Freak. Taking inspiration from the disco floor filler by Rick James, Le Freak: Superfreak will host a Thriller dance off for prizes along with freaky visuals, cocktails, decorations and more all under the disco ball on Friday, October 25th.
After three sell out Stranger Things inspired parties, The Night Owl thought long and hard on how to make 2019’s affair better than ever before. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of both Natural Born Killers and Pulp Fiction, the club will be hosting its first ever Quentin Tarantino inspired party on Saturday, October 26th.
Pulp Killers: A Tarantino Halloween Party will be headlined by Pulp Friction – an all singing, all dancing tribute band reenacting the scenes and soundtracks of some of Tarantino’s most popular films. After the high octane performance, DJs T-Bird and Mazzy Snape will play hit songs made famous by Tarantino’s flicks well into the night, along with visuals, cocktails, Jack Rabbit Slims Twist Dance Contest and prizes for the best dressed.
Finally, on Thursday, October 31st, The Night Owl are teaming up with Killer Wave and PNKSLM to bring guests a devilishly good garage music special. Those who love the fuzzy sound of the 1960s will enjoy live music from Manchester’s Fruit Tones, along with supports Leather Party and Mr Strange for a free garage gig second to none.
Previously, The Night Owl’s Much Stranger Things Halloween Party made headlines for its incredible scene building and immersive experience, being recognised nationally as the best night for fans of the Netflix show. Since its opening in 2015, The Night Owl have hosted multiple sell out Halloween events, as well as immersive nights themed after Prince, Bowie, Woodstock Festival and more. Recently, The Night Owl was recognised with ‘Best Brum Cocktail’ for their Strawberry Fields in the Independent Birmingham Awards.
The Night Owl’s Halloween events take place on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Thursday 31st October. Tickets for events can be found at www.theticketsellers.co.uk.
