West Midlands-based SuperTech, the UK’s only professional and business services technology partnership, has announced a strategic partnership with the UK PropTech Association.
Billed as the next high-growth technology enabled sector, following on from FinTech, there are already more than 25 dedicated PropTech businesses operating in the region, employing over 1000 people, representing the largest concentration of PropTech businesses outside of the capital region.
The strategic partnership will see SuperTech host a series of events, profiling and raising awareness of some of the major and growing firms in the West Midlands, the most famous of which being Solihull-based Purplebricks.
The activity is being led by SuperTech PropTech leads Mike Bristow, CEO and founder of CrowdProperty, and Simon Davis, CEO and co-founder of Nimbus Maps.
Davis said: “PropTech is one of the world’s fastest growing industries. Between 2020 and 2021 more than $12 billion was raised by and invested in PropTech firms globally. We already have a number of highly successful businesses in the region and this new partnership is designed to help promote that and encourage new businesses and entrepreneurs to enter the Market here in the West Midlands.”
Bristow added: “The West Midlands is an ideal launch location for technology-enable businesses. We’re home to more than 48,500 business, professional and financial services companies employing 343,000 people and contributing £28 billion to the regional economy annually. There are already 122 FinTech companies employing around 7,375 people, 46% of which are classified as scaleups. PropTech is clearly the next big growth sector and through SuperTech and this new partnership with the UK PropTech Association, we’re hoping to further support that rapid growth, creating new jobs and contributing further to the regional and UK economy.
Speaking about SuperTech and the West Midlands joining UK PropTech Association managing director, Saminder Pahal said: “We are really excited to be partnering with SuperTech to bring together and support the PropTech ecosystem in the West Midlands. This is a natural first step for us as a UK focused association to branch out into the regions and align with one of our key objectives to promote and support the whole of the UK as the best place to start or grow your PropTech business.”
To showcase the West Midlands’ thriving PropTech sector, SuperTech are launching a series of showcase events that will feature award-winning, market-leading businesses based in the region. The first of these free-to-attend events takes place on 4 May 2022 and they are aimed at all interested in and working in the real estate and built environment ecosystem.
