Do you dream of times gone by? Of a party in a utopian future where scintillating circus performers meet under night club lasers? Where the streets are alive with frivolities, festivities and music day and night? Where jazz and swing fuse with thundering synths and everyone parties like its 1929!? Then you have dreamt of Swingamajig festival.
Swingamajig is the UK’s first one day urban festival dedicated to Electro Swing, Gypsy Folk and vintage mayhem. It mixes the decadence of 1920s glamour with the urban setting of the iconic Custard Factory complex.
It is unlike any other festival you know. A sea of smiling faces old and young, hands raised in the air or flinging a dancing partner around, everyone looks ravishing and yet still dances like there is not a care left in the world!
Back for its third year Swingamajig Festival brings together the most unlikely yet wonderful people, from students to original swing fans in their 70s and beyond. You can expect the finest in live music, DJS, Burlesque, Swing Dancing Circus tricks, magic and more.
The eclectic line up boasts French trip hop from Chinese Man, saucy 20s swing meets stomping electro beats from Electric Swing Circus, bass heavy vintage sounds from the Dutty Moonshine Band and hi-octane genre blending from The Correspondents.
Across four live stages there is an impressive array of musical live acts and DJs and throughout the festival site all manner of food, entertainment and curiosities.
One thing is certain there is no other festival like Swingamajig, it is totally unique like its performers and its audience. Will you enter the world of Swingamajig?
Bank Holiday Sunday 3rd May 2pm-6am, The Custard Factory, Digbeth.
