There is a jam-packed season of shows heading to The Alexandra, Birmingham over the next few months.With award-winning musicals, a classic novel brought to life on stage and dramas that will have you on the edge of your seat, there’s something to keep everyone entertained.

The Girl On The Train will grip audiences this April. Starring Louisa Lytton as Rachel Watson and adapted from Paula Hawkins’ novel, this international phenomenon is a must-see.

Everyone is welcome at The Alexandra’s Open Daytaking place during the Easter holidays. Expect a day filled with fun for all ages, including craft workshops, face painting, behind-the-scenes tours, technical demos in flys, sound & lighting and more.

Hailed as the theatrical event of its generation, An Inspector Calls continues to challenge audiences with its thought-provoking content encouraging us all to examine our consciences.

Following this, the spine-tingling Ghost Stories is set to petrify audiences this May. More terrifying than ever before, where better to experience the ultimate love letter to horror than in Birmingham’s most haunted theatre.

Settle down for a magical experience as The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe celebrates 75 years of C.S. Lewis’s classic novel. This delight for allages followsLucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they wave goodbye to wartime Britain and embark on the most magical of adventures in a frozen, faraway land.

In June, we host the West Midlands amateur premiere of Les Misérables – Let the People Sing! as BMOS Musical Theatre Company collaborate with theatre groups from across the West Midlands to present the incredible Boublil and Schönberg musical in celebration of its 40th anniversary.

Dear Evan Hansen will be found, returning to Birmingham this summer after a highly successful run in October last year. This incredibly powerful musical features some of the biggest musical theatre songs of the last decade.

Fans of Peter James will enjoy the latest stage adaptation of his best-selling novel Picture You Dead. Starring Ore OdubaFiona Wade and George Rainsford, DSI Grace investigates a cold case that leads him to the secretive world of fine art.

We are thrilled that The National Theatre’s smash-hit production of War Horse will take to our stage this July. Based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo, follow the remarkable story of Albert and his horse Joey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France.

Brand new play, The Last Laugh, re-imagines the lives of three comedy heroes, Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe and Bob Monkhouse. Filled with great gags and touching stories, this laugh-a-minute production is sure to provide an evening of nostalgia.

Our youth project Stage Experience celebrates 20 years in August with a production of the incredible West Side Story. Two star-crossed lovers, Tony and Maria, are caught between warring street gangs. Will their love conquer the bitter Sharks and Jets rivalry or will it all end in tragedy?

Looking further ahead, we’re delighted to have announced a trio of shows coming soon to The Alex.

Celebrate one of Britain’s most iconic bands with Sunny Afternoon, an Olivier award-winning musical charting the euphoric highs and agonizing lows of The Kinks.

Following a sold-out West End season, prepare for a theatrical experience like no other as Inside No. 9 Stage/Fright comes to Birmingham in October.

This year’s festive season will see The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s Fiddler On The Roof take to our stagefor a Christmas run. Having received 13 Olivier Award nominations, we can’t wait to welcome this theatrical triumph in December.
