The brand new restaurant serving burgers made with the finest ingredients against a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack has opened its doors to the public
The Bun & Barrel, a brand-new burger restaurant offering bone marrow-infused burgers and barrel-aged cocktails, has officially opened in Harborne.
The restaurant is the brainchild of longtime friends, Harborne Kitchen’s Jamie Desogus and Rob Hennebry, who met as bandmates aged 21. The Bun & Barrel’s concept takes in Jamie and Rob’s mutual love for music, with the interior celebrating musical heritage, whilst each service will operate against a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack. The restaurant is also home to a pool table.
The Bun & Barrel’s menu offers burgers made with the finest ingredients, such as smashed patties infused with bone marrow whilst demi-brioche bun is made from scratch by the Harborne Kitchen team.
The B&B burger holds two 3oz Himalayan Salt Aged Beef smashed patties, pickled cabbage, jalapeño, matchstick fries and baby gem on a demi-brioche B&B bun.
The Surf & Turf burger showcases confit pork belly, scallop, pickled cabbage, prawn mayo, matchstick fries, baby gem and granny smith on a demi-brioche B&B bun.
The Soft Shell Crab burger offers tempura crab, mango and chilli salsa, shellfish mayo, pickled cabbage, picked white crab, matchstick fries and lemon on a demi-brioche B&B bun.
The Rossini burger, a twist on a Rossini steak, is made with two 3oz smashed patties, Ayrshire bacon, seared duck liver, miso onions, sherry vinegar gastrique, matchstick fries, baby gem and mustard on a demi-brioche B&B bun.
The Bun & Barrel’s vegetarian option, The Plant, is made with panko aubergine, halloumi, aubergine and kimchi chutney, matchstick fries, baby gem and chilli mayo on a demi-brioche B&B bun. This burger is also available with vegan cheese and bun.
The menu of barrel-aged signature cocktails on offer includes New York Minute, tequila, sweet vermouth, sugar syrup, barrel-aged whisky bitters and lemon twist, Old Fashioned, Makers Mark bourbon, sugar syrup, angostura bitters, orange bitters and orange twist, Dry Negroni, Beefeater gin, dry vermouth, Campari, orange bitters and orange twist, Martinez, Beefeater gin, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, angostura bitters and lemon twist and El Presidente, Kingston rum, dry vermouth, Grand Marnier, grenadine and orange twist.
The Bun & Barrel showcases a selection of local beers from Attic Brewery, including Birmingham Pilsner (4.5%), Intuition Pale Ale (4.4%), Signals IPA (5.6%) and Empty Cans Stout (6.4%), all available as a pint or half. Also on offer are Birmingham Brewing Company’s Sober Brummie (0.5%) and Hogans Traditional Cider (4.5%).
Natural wines from local supplier Wine Freedom are served on draught, including Prosecco Frizzante NV, Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Rose ‘Le Paradou’ 2021 Cinsault and Primitivo.
A selection of spirits and soft drinks are also available.

The Bun & Barrel is open for walk-ins only.
