On Saturday 20th February Leftfoot welcome back longtime friend Mr Scruff to the Hare & Hounds for a special 6 hour B2B set with Alexander Nut for the official Funk & Soul Weekender Launch Party.
As a DJ, Andy Carthy aka Mr. Scruff plays across the board, flitting between soul, funk, hip hop, jazz, reggae, latin, african, ska, disco, house, funk, breaks, soundtracks and loads more. As a producer he makes music that draws on these influences, with a large dose of cheek and good humour. His cartoon drawings illustrate gig flyers, record sleeves and CD covers, and usually accompany him at gigs as live animated visuals.
Joining him on the night is Eglo Records label boss and one of NTS’s most diverse selectors, Alexander Nut who has made a name for himself blending all corners of the contemporary music spectrum into a glimmering prism of late-night futurism, filling his sets with a mutant brew of bass heavy sounds from hip hop to house to dubstep and beyond, showcasing a plethora of producers with a mixing style all his own.
Everything is in place for what is set to be one of the best and most musically diverse nights the Hare & Hounds has seen. Advance £15 tickets on sale now.
