The Royal Hotel, now “The Townhouse” has undergone a major refurbishment by independently ran Suburban Inns to bring a mix of seven days a week casual dining and entertainment to Sutton Coldfield, re-opens on Thursday 28th November 2019.
Suburban Inns have owned and operated “The Royal Hotel” for over 18 years establishing itself as a go-to spot for drinking, dancing and live music in Sutton Coldfield. Having closed the doors back in October, Adrian Harvey, Director and the team are keen to show off “The Townhouse” and to bring a fresh approach to hospitality to the town.
Operations Manager, Steve Bould said:
We know there has been a lot of talk about what was going to happen to The Royal, we hope that given the consideration to the design of not just the venue but to the food, drinks and entertainment that has been put into The Townhouse, the people of Sutton and beyond will enjoy what’s been created.
We know the trend for fresh and interesting street food paired with a handcrafted gin goblet isn’t going away and why should you only get these things in the city when we can have them in The Townhouse’s The Yard – we really can’t wait to see people enjoying themselves here
The Townhouse will offer guests a range of areas to enjoy their visit in including a Lounge, Bar, Club Room and The Yard all with elements of modern design and contemporary attention to detail.
The Lounge and Bar areas are flush with spacious places to enjoy cocktails, gin goblets and craft beers alongside a thoughtfully curated food menu. Topping the pizzas and stuffing the bao buns will be slow-roasted pulled Korean beef, cola mole pork shoulder and a vegan-friendly sweet hickory jackfruit.
The Clubroom lives up to its name with a 100-capacity function space perfect for private parties and events, draped in rich decadent colours and having its own bar and DJ facilities. At the weekend, in The Club Room, The Townhouse will be serving Bottomless Brunch alongside musical entertainment from Noon.
The graffiti-covered “The Yard” comes alive from Friday evening with DJs, cocktails and fresh street food being served outside from an in-house menu in a converted shipping container, rotating on a weekly basis and served late into the evening. The menu will have global influences, think Thai yellow curry loaded fries, halloumi kebabs and chicken breast burgers marinated in Korean hot sauce.
Novo Designahigh-end interior design consultant, renowned for creating spaces that maximise the functional and aesthetic potential of a venue, was brought in to complete the project.
Abbie Smith, Novo Design’s founder and Creative Director, explained:
Transforming the former Royal Hotel into The Townhouse has been such an exciting journey. We have really pushed the boundaries here to create a vibrant space with bags of personality that will flex effortlessly between brunch and daytime dining to high energy, evening atmosphere. Good luck to the whole team at Suburban Inns and a massive thank you for involving Novo Design on such a fabulous project
