As the mercury falls in Birmingham, it’s time to grab a glass and get toasty with The Birmingham Whisky Club. The city’s only whisky tasting company have teamed up with award-winning brands from all over the world to present a delectable line up of events taking place throughout October, November and December.
The season kicks off with the clubs first ‘Desserts and Dram’s’ event on October 13th, where five Islay whiskies will be expertly matched with five sourdough doughnuts from artisanal bakers, Crosstown Doughnuts. If savory is more your thing, join Dave Andrews (William Grant & Sons) as he matches a selection of different Scotch whiskies to a range of delicious game based dishes at Harborne favourite, The Plough, on Wednesday 25th October.
You know Birmingham has more canals than Venice, but have you ever toured them? George Wills (Manager at Kilchoman Whisky) will be presenting a fantastic range of drams at ‘Whisky On The Water’, taking place on Away 2 Dine (one of Brindley Place’s wonderful dining boats) on Friday 3rd November. Enjoy a relaxed boat tour around Gas Street Basin and beyond, whilst indulging in five special whiskies from the brand’s award-winning range.
Amy Seton (owner of The Birmingham Whisky Club) had this to say,
I am excited to present this season of fun and informative tasting events. Winter presents the perfect time to warm up with a dram, so we’re pleased to present a range of events covering brilliant brands and unique experiences to encourage the informed imbibers of Birmingham to try something new.
The club is hosting 11 dram-tastic events featuring whisk(e)y from Scotland, Sweden, America, Japan, India and even Taiwan over ‘A Whisky Winter’. Tickets for these events range from £25 to £45.
