Yarningham, Birmingham’s fibre festival returns for its third edition in July. Featuring dyers and independent producers from across the UK and beyond, Yarningham will be even bigger in 2018, with twice as many exhibitors, more workshops, as well as a new, larger venue.
The Yarningham team have carefully selected the best dyers, suppliers and producers for a weekend celebrating all things yarn. The two-day marketplace will take place in the beautiful setting of the Uffculme Centre, a former home of the Cadbury family located in between the areas of Moseley and Kings Heath.
There will be opportunities to learn new skills with an extended workshop offering. These include 3D Knitting with Renée Callahan (aka EastLondonKnit), Demystifying Double Knitting with Nathan Taylor (aka Sockmatician), an Introduction to Marlisle with Anna Maltz, and even the chance to make your own leather purse with local designer maker Deborette Clarke.
The festival will also feature films selected by the Crafts Council, demonstrations from Birmingham & District Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, a knitting surgery from the Knitting & Crochet Guild and of course, plenty of cake.
